 Description :

 The main purpose of a size press on a paper machine is to apply a solution of starch or other material onto the surface of the dry paper, to boost up B.F. in kraft paper & to provide glaze in white mapilite.

Features :

Usually the main role for applying the material is used to increase the surface strength of the paper web. Other benefits also includes reduced dusting tendency, increased stiffness and reduced air-permeability.

 

Size Press is designed as two rolls Press with Hydraulic or Pneumatic down Pressure system. Its press rolls are arranged horizontally where a movable Press roll is installed lower than the stationary one.

 

Technical Specifications :

 

  • Press rolls are dynamically balanced for required speeds and are provided with Micro-rock coated and rubber coated with bearings fitted in CI bearing housing which is made water tight.
  • Sizing agent is led through distribution piping between press rolls and maintained by external gates.
  • Volume of the sizing agent can be regulated by means of valves that are hand operated or electro pneumatically control. Excessive volume of the sizing agent is taken away through several waste troughs.
  • The Frame set is made heavy duty from MS Fabricated Plates.
  • Box type Lever is provided with GM bushes fitted for press roll adjustments.
  • Tray for removal of extra starch is provided made from SS material.
  • Spray pipes for starch solution is provided over the size press rolls.
  • Doctor holders with doctor arrangement is provided for cleaning of press rolls.
  • Paper Roll and Dancing Roll is provided for free movement of paper from the Size Press duly bearing fitting in CI bearing housing and are dynamically balanced.
